Jogja National Museum, contemporary art museums and galleries
Jogja National Museum (JNM) is a contemporary art museum and galleries. JNM be a work spaces, space discussions, art exhibitions, and as a public space. JNM is managed by Yayasan Yogyakarta Seni Nusantara (YYSN), inaugurated in 2006. JNM occupies the former Indonesian Fine Arts Academy (ASRI - 1950), and the Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD - 1984), which is the forerunner to the establishment of the Indonesian Arts Institute (ISI). Located in Jalan Amri Yahya 1, Gampingan, Wirobrajan, the city of Yogyakarta.
Jogja National Museum Complex occupies an area of 1.4 hectares. Consists of building JNM Art Shop, main showroom on the North side, Fine Art Museum Gallery, plazas, showrooms / performing semi-enclosed (Pendopo Ajiyasa), Sites Kriya, management office (Gedung Katalis).
Since the beginning, Jogja National Museum conceptualized as a center of contemporary art in Jogja. One of them by holding exhibitions held regularly. In addition, forward JNM will be equipped with several facilities that can support the development of contemporary art. For example studio residency,. which is home to artists who want to work in Jogja. Other facilities to be constructed is a library of artists, music shop, coffee shop, and fine art materials stores. JNM also provides simple lodging (cottage) with affordable rates.
