MUSEUM AFFANDI, the journey of life maestro Indonesian art
Affandi Museum is located at Jl. Laksda Adisutjipto 167 Yogyakarta. The museum collects works of Indonesian painting maestro, Affandi, and describes his life journey. The museum complex is divided into four galleries that have distinctive features and different characteristics.
Gallery I
At this gallery exhibited paintings depicting the life journey Affandi, as a painter, from the first to the last painting, and as a person. Here also there are several items related to the life journey Affandi, such as bicycle, old-fashioned saloon car, flip-flops, brushes, buckets, cloths, gloves plaid, newspaper clippings, photographs and memories of Affandi, even his favorite cangklong pipe. In addition, some charter award ever received by Affandi, and a collection of stamps PT. POS Indonesia Affandi image series in 1997.
Gallery II
This gallery exhibiting paintings of Kartika Affandi. And several works of Indonesian artists, such as Basuki Abdullah, Popo Iskandar, Hendra, Rusli, Fajar Sidik, S. Sujoyono, Barli, Wahdi S, Bagong Kusudiarjo, Mochtar Apin, and other painters. This gallery has 2 floors. The first floor contains paintings are abstract. The second floor is dominated realist painting.
Gallery III
The first floor is used as a showroom paintings of families, such as the paintings latest works of Kartika Affandi, Affandi's daughter. Of paintings by Rukmini Yusuf and Juki Affandi, and woolen cloth embroidered paintings, works Maryati, Affandi wife. On the second floor is used as a treatment room painting, while on the ground floor functioned for collection storage space.
Gallery IV
A showroom various paintings by Didit, Affandi grandchildren. This gallery looks interesting with a ceilings made of woven bamboo.
Affandi Museum is open Monday - Saturday 09:00 am - 16:00 pm. Sundays and public holidays was opened with a special request. Affandi Museum also offers a variety of souvenirs, such as reproductions paintings by Affandi, books and catalogs, Affandi T-Shirt, and Affandi's Merchandise.
