Ijo Temple is a temple complex consists of several buildings with a courtyard-patio terrace. The most sacred page is located on the back, and at the top. This is one of the megalithic culture, a building punden. Ijo Temple is a Hindu temple complex which is located 4 kilometers from Candi Ratu Boko, or about 18 kilometers to the east of the city of Yogyakarta. The temple is expected to be built between the period of the 10th century until the 11th AD when the Ancient Mataram Kingdom.

Ijo Temple is located in the Dukuh Groyokan, Sambirejo village, Prambanan district, Sleman regency, Yogyakarta. The temple is located west slope of a hill away from the crowds in the area east of Yogyakarta, roughly about 4 kilometers southeast of Candi Ratu Boko. The temple is situated on the slopes of a hill at an altitude of 410 meters above sea level, located on the hill called "Gumuk Ijo", the scenery around the temple is very beautiful, especially if you look west will look rice-fields and Adisucipto Airport.

Ijo Temple complex consists of several groups of the main temple (candi induk), the temple clamps (candi pengapit), and ancillary temples (candi perwara). The main temple which has been completely refurbished facing west. In front of the temple is lined three smaller size supposedly built to worship the Trimurti: Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. Third smaller ancillary temples faces the main temple, which faces east. This small temple has a third room on the inside and there is rhombus-shaped windows in the walls. Perwara roof consists of three tiers with rows crown jewel.

Around Candi Ijo, there are several temples, Prambanan temple, palace relics Boko, Candi Barong, and Candi Banyunibo. Before reaching Candi Ijo, you can stop for a moment to see traditional stone mining. You can also browse sawing of natural stone and enjoying the beautiful view of the city of Yogyakarta. Especially at night.
