Banyunibo temple, Buddhist heritage sites
Bayunibo temple, located in the hamlet Cepit, Bokoharjo village, Prambanan district, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Bayunibo temple is a relic of the 9th century, in the days of the ancient Mataram kingdom. The temple was discovered in 1940, measuring 16 mx 15 m, height 15 m. Characteristic shape of the stupa, temple building is expected to be a relic of the Buddhist religion. Meaning of the name of this temple, Banyunibo, "Banyu = water", "nibo = fall", which means the water that drips fall. Banyunibo temple has many ornaments. Almost in every part of the temple is filled by an assortment of ornaments and reliefs. Although part of the one with the other, often found the same decorative motifs. Decoration on the foot of the temple, each side is divided into several areas, which is carved with decorative plants, which came out of the flower vase.
The main temple facing to the west and is between rice fields. Of debris around it, there are an estimated 6 pieces ancillary temples (temple companion), who shaped stupa around the main temple, in the south and east. In the north the temple, there is a stone wall along the 65 m stretching from west to east. Ancillary temple ruins of a stupa estimated diameter of about 5 m.
