Candi Abang, a tourist village with limestone hills
Cultural Tourism Candi Abang, located in the hamlet Sentanareja (Rejosari). Jogotirto village, Sub-district Berbah, District Sleman, Yogyakarta. Candi Abang tourist village includes 4 villages, namely Hamlet Rejosari, Balambangan Hamlet, Hamlet and Hamlet Karasakan Sentonorejo. The total area of 595.785 ha.
Candi Abang area tourist village is largely a region of limestone hills that hold the potential unique natural beauty with mountains nature. In the tourist village of Candi Abang, there are relics of ancient architecture in the form of traditional houses (Joglo and Limasan) scattered hamlet Krongan and Balambangan.
In this tourist village, there is a Hindu temple relics, namely Candi Abang. The name "Abang" is derived from the color of the temple building material. Building materials "Candi Abang" is different from the temple building materials in general, such as Prambanan, Borobudur and other temples,which is derived from the rocks. Candi Abang material derived from red stone, clay that is printed, then burned to red. The red color in the Java language called "abang".
